Endgame

Downpour ended just in time to leave the office:

— Perhaps you should cry for Latvia.

— Remember when Adam Morrison and JJ Redick were college stars and lottery draft picks? Now one of them will win a title!

— Conor Clarke’s new blog.

— CAP joins new immigration reform coalution.

— Bank executives don’t seem to think banks are good investments.

— New Hampshire is totally gay.

Done!

    New Hampshire is totally gay.

    Awesome.

  2. Jeffrey Davis Says:

And apparently Dick Cheney has come out.

  3. LaFollette Progressive Says:

Live Free or Die, indeed. Congratulations to the good people of NH.

  4. FlipYrWhig Says:

I’m not a big NBA fan like some of y’all. Is that 2006 first-round draft class the worst ever?

  5. Jeffrey Davis Says:

Bank executives don’t seem to think banks are good investments.

    (FTA)

I for one would like to ask if our new Chinese overlords would like dumplings with that.

  6. right Says:

Is that 2006 first-round draft class the worst ever?

God no. It’s not very good, but Brandon Roy is a borderline superstar, Rondo, Aldridge, and Gay are very good, and a bunch of the other players are reasonably productive.

For the worst in recent memory, check out 2000. Best players: Hedo Turkoglu, Kenyon Martin, Mike Miller, and Jamaal Magloire. 2001 and 2002 were pretty weak as well, although similarly to 2006. Look for this year’s draft to make a strong run at the title though.

  7. Eric k Says:

    Flip,

Not even close, Brandon Roy is 2nd team all NBA already and is poised to remain a top 10 or even top 5 player, Rajon Rondo you might remember him as the Starting PG for the Celtics! Aldridge is borderline All Star level, Rudy Gay, Ty Thomas, Ronnie Brewer, just off the top of my head are solid, there are probably a few more.

There are plenty of drafts that don’t yield more than a handfull of guys that even last more than a few years.

  8. Eric k Says:

    Right,

You must type better than me so you didn;t spend as much time fixing errors before posting:-)

  9. FlipYrWhig Says:

Thx for info. The only name I was sure I knew was Rondo.

  10. 24AheadDotCom Says:

And, here’s my discussion on how that new immigration reform coalution that CAP joined is trying to mislead people.

P.S. One of the topline groups in the coalition has allegedly collaborated with the Mexicangovernment. At least two groups playing a minor role in the coalition are linked to that government.

  11. sym Says:

I can’t believe that poetry writing Dukie JJ Redick is the one making an actual contribution to an NBA finals team. Morrison has gotta count as one of the biggest draft of the decade, right? Even Darko still gets minutes.

  12. Adam Says:

I think MY’s new word “coalution” is not being used very well here. I suggest that, from now on, a “coalution” is an organization of fossil-fuel companies lobbying Congress to weaken environmental regulations.

  13. Hector Says:

Since my views appear not to have been clearly expressed in the past, I’d like to go on record as being a supporter of (civil) gay marriage, in New Hampshire and nationwide. (Not in Poland, though). I have said otherwise in the past, but my views have changed on the topic and now I believe gay civil marriage is right.

‘Bishop’ Gene Robinson is a tool, however, and thoroughly undeserving of his hat. Scr*w him.

  14. Adam Says:

Care to enlighten us as to what’s the deal with Poland, Hector?

  15. dth Says:

speaking of this year’s draft, let me just say that a) ricky rubio is ridiculously good; b) James Harden will be better than GMs, at least, seem to think he is.

  16. Waingro Says:

“Morrison has gotta count as one of the biggest draft of the decade, right?”

Just a ridiculous waste of a lottery pick. Michael Jordan should just give up and go play golf, because he absolutely sucks as a manager. Was Jerry West the only truly great player to become a great GM? (You can count Joe Dumars if you want-I suppose I would). I can’t think of any others- they’re usually role players.

  17. steph Says:

please please please do not led adam morrison get a ring if the lakers win. that will make the win just a little bit sad for me. at least jordan farmar will remember when adam m. was crying on the floor after losing to ucla…jj reddick sucks too, but adam morrison is more whiny with a worse moustache

  18. MNPundit Says:

A very long time ago I had a penpal from Latvia for a short while.

I often wonder what her life turned out like.

  19. Miss T Says:

Perhaps we should cry for all homeless people.

  20. Bragan Says:

Not so long ago I had a email pal from Moldova. At times I too wonder how she’s faring in that country that makes Latvia look like Germany.

How long before all the US is totally gay (and when will USSC come out the closet on this issue)?
