John Podesta is back from his work as co-chair of the Obama-Biden Transition Project to his day job as CEO of CAP and CAPAF. And we’ve got video of him answering questions submitted by ThinkProgress readers. It’s a lot more informative than anything you’re going to see on cable.

Mmm sounds unbalanced. I think you need Cokie Roberts on to just say totally stupid stuff and then a Republican House member to actively make people stupider by repeating Rush Limbaugh’s talking points. Also, probably someone from Heritage to round things out.

Did he tell you when I will get my fucking $40 DTV Transition rebate?
January 29th, 2009 at 10:29 am
Don, I’ve been meaning to ask you this for a while.
What the hell is your problem? You rant about a damn $40 coupon in just about every single thread. Do you have a job? Is this a significant financial hardship to you? Do you just go apeshit over random fairly trivial things because of some misguided set of principles?
You seem roughly as angry over a $40 coupon as you did over the trillions of dollars wasted that you previously ranted about in every single thread. One would think an economy of scale applies, although I guess this affects you personally.
I’m sure we could take up a collection to paypal you $40 if it’d make you shut up about it.

Make sure that is all future postings about CAP your refer back to this and add in as reported by Matt Yglesias previously.

Obviously Adam has never seen “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” –probably because Adam can’t afford cable.

But forget me for the moment. Think about 6.5 million American households at least –many of which are low income and most of whom are probably Obama supporters.
Why should those low income households have to shell out $70 for a converter just because Whore Bush and the Republican COngresses decided to sell the PUBLIC’s airwaves to some large corporations?
And shouldn’t we SUPPORT Broadcast TV — because it is still partially responsive to (or can be made responsive to) the idea of “public interest”?
Whereas Fox Cable makes us pay for the privilege of listening to Fox News and Bill O”Reilly.
Why did the grassroots work to install Obama into the WHite House — and give Democrats control of COngress — if the attitude of our leaders is going to be “Let them watch Cable”?

It would take –what, $200 Million? — to give low income households $40 rebates to PARTIALLY compensate them for take THEIR public airwaves and giving them to Verizon.
But I guess we’re all about fiscal restraint and austere government spending these days.
Fuck you, Adam

Matt,
I know what your conveying here, but it seems a bit over adulatory.
“Podesta Speaks!” sort of reminds me of one of my favorite periodicals “Muhammad Speaks,” the reflections of Elijah Muhammad.
If this is what you are intending, however, by all means continue with the humor.

jeff’s comment has caused Jennifer Palmieri to lock up, a la old shows where they asked a computer a paraddoxx.
If MattY wants to link to video of someone being asked questions, let me suggest he restricts it to cases where those questions are adversarial and not just from inside the cult.

Hi,
This is Jennifer Palmieri, former acting CEO of the Center for American Progress Action Fund.
Most readers know that the views expressed on Matt’s blog are his and his poster’s own and don’t always reflect the views of the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Such is the case with regard to Jeff and 24AheadDotCom’s comments about Elijah Muhammad. Our institution has partnered with Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam on a number of important projects – including a homeland security transition project – and have a great deal of respect for their critical thinking and excellent work product. And while we disagree with the NOI’s view on Jews, science and other matters, they are key leaders in the progressive movement and we look forward to working with them in the future.
