You think it’s superior in flavor? I ate quite a bit of grass-fed beef in South America, and although it was tasty — and different — I’d say good old American slabs of well-marbled, cholesterol-infused cattle flesh is better still, and richer and more satisfying. Yum.
Where by “doing great things with multimedia” you mean exploiting technology that Apple put out what, ten years ago, and which has been used by plenty of other photographers in substantially more dramatic examples?
I direct you to petermccready.com/portfolio/05091901.html and the rest of his portfolio on that website.
For Christmas Eve dinner, we finished off the tenderloin we’d bought on sale just before Thanksgiving. Grass fed, free range etc. The taste is stronger, and apparently the word has spread that the taste is worse. Hence the sale price at which we bought it. Usually, I’d seen it for sale at a premium. I enjoyed the tenderloin — which can use the extra flavor — but I’ve had grass-fed roasts that were gamy.
I was going to say something about QTVR coming out about the time that MattY was attending boarding school and learning how to be intellectually dishonest, but I see most of that has been taken care of.
The reason to choose grass fed beef is that it is organically grown, i.e. without antibiotics and other growth stimulating chemicals. The animals lead a much more humane existence compared to the horrors of factory farm production.
As to QTVR technology, anyone can do their own version with relatively small expense.
Actually, the NYT really is doing great things with multimedia. Their videos are head and shoulders above just about any other newspaper. WaPo is good, too, but the NYT is more consistently excellent.
There seems to be an implied premise that the use of a less than brand new technology suggests the NYT is not, in fact, doing great things with multimedia. This seems silly.

100 years is longer than I’d age a steak.

Cholesterol alley! Grass-feed beef is superior, but that requires grass lands, which according to Matt, is a wasted resource.

Damn you, DuBois.

What Maynard said. It was called Quicktime VR and it came out when I was 12.

Damn you twice, Al and Dubios. I suspected someone would have said that, but with only 7 comments I was hopeful I’d be the first.
Put me down as a vote for grain-fed beef over grass-fed, but it’s personal preference. Once isn’t “better” than the other.

So, I’ll just link to this.

Having been raised on a farm where grass fed was the norm, my taste buds have developed the preference; gamey, to me, means venison!

Yeah, this sort of thing has been around awhile. Here are several of the electronic junk yard variety:

And yah to the other oomments – MY apparently has a very permissive concept of “great things with multimedia”.

Did anyone else notice the rat in the back corner next to the dirty mop?
