Still totally unelectable:
A month before his inauguration, Americans choose Barack Obama as the man they admire most in the world, according to a new USA TODAY/Gallup Poll. It’s the first time a president-elect has topped the annual survey in more than a half-century.
Reading about this made me think about Obama’s incredibly charisma which, in turn, made me think of Matt Wright’s cowboy photo that, I think, does the best job out there of capturing the Obama phenomenon.

I still like Obama in the Heisman pose.

The “75,000 white people in Portland” doesn’t capture the charisma?

Pure Zen, baby.

That is such a badass photo. He’s about to take out every desperado in town.

My fantasy is that within two years Obama will become so immersed in the job that he’ll bore us all to tears as he gets on the tv and drones on and on and on about all the stuff he’s continuing to fix and all the partnerships he’s creating and all the reasonableness he’s promoting.
That we’ll all make jokes about how boring Obama is, how his speeches are the ultimate sleep aid, etc. etc. etc. And then he’ll win by a huge landslide in 2012 and pretty much pick his successor in 2016. Oh, and, of course, he’ll make lots of stuff better.

I tihnk all news organizations should adopt a policy that says any pundit who predicted that Obama was unelectable should no longer be identified as a “political expert.” In fact, maybe CNN can run a tag underneath their name that says something like, “Got the biggest story of 2008 wrong.”
Maybe that will shut them up, or at least prevent anyone from taking them seriously anymore.

Amen!

MattY continues to be too stupid to factor the role of publicists, a completely corrupt MSM, and general establishment desires into things. (Of course, there’s another explanation: MattY can factor those in, he just thinks you’re stupid enough to buy what he’s selling.)

There’s one good thing that’ll come out of this presidency: between that photo and Salazar, cowboys will be protected from having their cowboy legacy go down with the supposedly “cowboy president.”
December 26th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Matt Wright’s cowboy photo that, I think, does the best job out there of capturing the Obama phenomenon.
Yes. First, men should not wear hats. Next, unless you are actually at a ranch out in the sun, you should not be wearing a cowboy hat. It is a testimony to Obama’s amazing charisma that he is able to violate both of these rules and still look appealing, rather than looking like a goof, poseur, or guy with an annoying affectation, as most hat-wearers do.

Matt, watching you suck Obama’s dick on a daily basis while ignoring his upcoming major disasters in foreign policy is becoming irritating.
Just as it was irritating to watch you ignore and mis-state his foreign policy prescriptions during his campaign.
In four years, I’m going to quote this crap back to you as a further demonstration of how you don’t know squat about foreign policy and therefore never understood how Obama was merely “Bush Lite”.

Cue the ironic Blazing-Saddles-by-way-of-Men-in-Tights reference.
December 28th, 2008 at 1:48 am
Look guys, I’m as big an Obama fan as the next guy, but that photo looks ridiculous. Granted, it’s a good shot, but Obama looks only slightly less silly in a cowboy hat than Dubya does. In fairness, practically everybody who isn’t lee van cleef looks silly in that headgear.
Seriously, though, Obama in a cowboy hat is about 10x as phony as Hillary getting a shot and a beer in PA. It may be a testament to Obama’s magnetism that nobody points this out, though.

That is simply, unequivocally wrong.
Now, if you said that men should not wear baseball hats, you might have a point…

That photo is brilliant. Obama’s aware of the irony. That makes it awesome.
