Sore Losers
John Sununu goes out the door swinging:
Consider Senator John E. Sununu, Republican of New Hampshire, who lost his bid for a second term, and who on Wednesday objected to a bill offered by Senator Barbara A. Mikulski, Democrat of Maryland, to help the auto industry. Ms. Mikulski snarled, “Boy, am I sorry that is the last act of John Sununu in the Senate.”
Mr. Sununu returned to the floor later. “Well, it won’t be the last thing I do,” he said. “If nothing else, the last thing I will do is explain why her legislation was such a terrible idea.”
This car stuff aside, I worry that people are going to look back years from now and see the failure of the lame-duck congress to pass a stimulus plan as disastrously short-sighted. These things are time-sensitive.

Boy, am I sorry that is the last act of John Sununu in the Senate.
Much better if it had been holding hands with Barb Mikulski as they gave a standing ovation to Ted Stevens.

Maybe you’re right, but how many times have we heard that argument? USA PATRIOT Act, Iraq AUMF, funds for the pointless occupation of Iraq (I mean “for the troops”), Protect America Act, FISA amendments…

The only reason he got elected in the first place was because he & the RNC jammed the Democratic Party’s phone lines the day of the election thus canceling any GOTV effort.

Sununu Jr. has not yet called Jeanne Shaheen with the traditional congrats call, and his dad is screaming about how the voters of NH are misinformed, John Lynch is the worst governor of NH ever, and he, Sununu Sr., is considering taking over the leadership of the NH Republican party to fix it all.
It’s really amusing here in NH.
