Socialism Comes to America…

… and yet somehow that’s going to count as proof that we’re a center-right nation.

  2. Mark D Says:

So … when do we get to intern Michele Malkin?

More seriously, I’m giddy. Absolutely giddy.

But that’ll last a day or two — we got a LOT of work to do to fix this country of ours …

  3. mtc Says:

Even WFB put country squarely in third (after God and family).

  4. Njorl Says:

So when do we divvy up the rich people’s loot? I want one of those gold plated toilet seats before Obama goes mad with power and ships me off to a collective farm.

  5. Notorious P.A.T. Says:

Remember, this isn’t a vote for Democrats, it’s a vote against Republicans. The opposite of a Republican is. . . a moderate Republican, I suppose.

  6. Richard Steven Hack Says:

Well, Obama needs socialism if he’s going to pay for the wars on Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan that he’s going to fuck up the US economy over.

Bush just screwed up in two countries – although, given the opportunity, he would have screwed up in several more, probably including ones Obama won’t bother with, like Syria.

OTOH, Obama may not get a chance to screw up, if other nations take the initiative away from the US. This might happen if Obama is too preoccupied with the plunging US economy to do much more than pay lip service to his flawed foreign policy concepts for the next year.

    I got my head checked

    It wasn’t easy
    But nothing is
    Woo hoo!
    When I feel heavy metal
    Woo hoo!
And I’m pins and I’m needles
    Woo hoo!
Well I lie and I’m easy
All of the time but I’m never sure why I need you
    Pleased to meet you.
    I got my head done
    When I was young
    It’s not my problem
    It’s not my problem
    Woo hoo!
    When I feel heavy metal
    Woo hoo!
And I’m pins and I’m needles

    Baiting the Rethugs?

McCain was gracious in his concession speech but the audience of his wasn’t. McCain put country first, but the “Base” puts their ideology first.

Socialism? Obama? Hardly. I hope he examines Clinton’s missteps during his first year in office.

Don’t expect the Right to be nice and don’t give them quarter (like Clinton did).

Be agressive in making changes, don’t quibble, but remain calm and authoriative. Demand advice from left, right and center on the economic front and act quickly on a stimulus package. Be wary of the commercial class within the Republican party: people like Biden (alas) and Palosi, et al. Do not project ‘elitism’ and develop a commonality with all people. Be wary of the Wall Street elitists (like Larry Summers and Robert Rubin).

    Jobs!!
