Obama on Sagging Pants

He’s against them as a first-order matter, but seems to oppose ordinances that would ban unduly sagging pants. I see this as a potentially promising post-election wedge issue for the GOP — surely they’ll be able to get substantial support from moderate Democrats for a Federal Pant-Sagging Act (FPSA) and then dare Obama to issue an unpopular veto.

Typo alert. I think you meant to type “wedgie issue”. (do you kids know what a wedgie is (or was)) ?

  2. Jim Wilson Says:

Um, wouldn’t that make it a “wedgie” issue?

  3. KC Says:

I believe A.I. would have a question for President Obama : “Why you hate me?”!

Meanwhile, in news of something that actually matters, BHO wants to deport his own aunt, but let millions of other illegal aliens stay here.

the pun “Wedgie Issue” isn’t that funny. it is only tangentially related to the issue of sagging pants.

  9. Steven Rumbalski Says:

Re-read post, replacing “sagging pants” with “gay marriage”.

There’s something a little bit distressing about how relentlessly on-message this guy is. He took a fluff question about local sartorial ordinances and responded that politicians need to concern themselves with healthcare, jobs, and Iraq — obviously Federal=level issues. Eventually he got around to answering the question, but sheesh. He seems to be like this in all his interviews (see also the Daily Show). I hope that starting tomorrow night he’ll be out of this talking-point rut.

1957, Kentucky Derby, Eddie Arcaro stood up before the finish. And lost.

Run through the tape, Obama. Run through the tape.

  12. Confused in Peoria Says:

Wouldn’t this conflict with the GOP’s pro-plumber stance as a wedge issue?
