Ensign’s Way Off-Message

My sense is that when you’re chair of the NRSC you’re not supposed to say that your party’s VP nominee isn’t qualified. But here’s John Ensign (R-NV):

The good times keep on rolling.

Not all Republicans can keep up the lie all the time.

  3. Grumpy Says:

Maybe Ensign doesn’t like Alaskans. He also called on Ted Stevens to resign, which doesn’t help the NSRC’s efforts to re-elect Stevens.

  4. Ted Says:

So where does this leave us? Eagleberger says Palin is “absolutely not” prepared, and appears to emphasize the statistical likelihood of McCain’s demise. As for Eagleberger, who clearly got a call from the RNC, he could at least reorder the talking points they gave him (”she has executive experience, she is a governor, and she has experience in “energy” issues,” none of which relate to a total dearth of foreign policy aptitude. This Senator is clearly reacting to the fact NV is going Democrat, and there is no way he can make a positive comment about Palin.

  5. Seth Says:

I’m sure Ensign will “rethink” his position tomorrow as Eagleberg already has. But the fact remains, they seem at best undecided.

Tell you what folks, how about you take the next four years to sort all this out. You’ll have plenty of time to think about it.

  6. Paul Stravinsky Says:

I’m not sure a navy pilot who wrecked 3 planes, getting captured at his 4th, is such a good example of competence to be CIC either.

The past is over. Obama is NOW and the future.
