I guess we’re off the point in the campaign where people are supposed to talk specifics, but if you’re interested Obama’s specific infrastructure proposal is for the creation of a National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank.
“…if you’re gonna run deficit spending then it better be in rebuilding our roads, our bridges, our sewer lines, our water systems, laying broadband lines.” — Obama
Sounds good to me. In this interview as elsewhere, when Obama talks about infrastructure he focuses on roads. He also talks here about upgrading the electrical grid, which will facilitate the recharging of electric cars. He doesn’t even mention transit.
LOL, I’ve seen some hair-splitting before, but you’re the champ, Mixner. I suppose because he didn’t say the word “concrete” we should believe that no concrete would be used in the new infrastructure projects…
LOL, Dave. Yeah, pointing out that Obama didn’t even mention transit, let alone suggest that he considers it any kind of priority, is “hair-splitting.”

Actually he never mentioned asphalt either, and since he did mention trains, clearly the roads are going to be paved with trains.

So presumably “as elsewhere” excludes his official policy paper on transportation, right? Since by my count 6 of the 16 topics there are explicitly related to rail or public transit. (things like “Invest in Public Transportation” or “Create Greater Incentives for Public Transit Usage”)
Salut! Informative, good design, well done!.

Hey, that’s all well and good, but I’m waiting with bated breath to hear what well-respected infrastructure expert Mixner has to say about this!

Nice try, Mixner, but he actually mentions trains in the first few seconds of the clip.

I said “transit,” not “trains.” He does indeed mention trains, but says nothing more about them.

How refreshing it will be to have a President with a three-digit IQ again.
