Marc Ambinder rightly deems the following McCain campaign rebuttal to accusations being made about his views on Social Security to be “amusing”:
JOHN MCCAIN HAS MADE NO SPECIFIC SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM PROPOSAL, SO IT HAS NO COST
See, that’s Barack Obama’s problem. When he’s proposed new programs or substantial changes to existing programs, he’s tried to spell his ideas out in some detail and provide a budgetary framework. If he stayed vaguer, then it’d all be free!

BHO’s plans are similar to the King proposing to build a bridge across a river. All of the King’s toadies (yes, I’m looking at MattY) think it’s a wonderful idea. Meanwhile, all the King’s engineers realize it’s going to be almost impossible to build the bridge due to wind patterns, soil issues, and the like, but none of them want to be decapitated for pointing it out.
In other words, BHO has proposed several plans, but no one who has access to him is brave or knowledgeable enough to point out how flawed they are and what he’s “forgetting” to mention.

24ADC is looking for subtle ways to remind everyone that Sarah Palin said thanks but no thanks for that bridge to nowhere.

Dear 24: I recognize that some of Obama’s plans might have the regrettable effect of helping people who aren’t already wealthy, but this doesn’t actually bear on the viability of the plans themselves.
PS: Is this the part where you torture me? Never mind, you just did.

McCain is history and I’d guess most of the GOPer bigwigs know it. They’re just hanging on, trying to make the loss look respectable.
I’m not sure they even feel all the bad about it either. I mean, some elections are better lost than won. Obama will inherit a mess for which there’s just no quick fix. And 2010 isn’t that far away.

Jeez, Matt. Haven’t you ever heard the saying, “Sometimes the best plan is stopping a bad one.”

I’m sure you know about GIGO. In this case, your only input is toady.thinkprogress.org and the Toady Times, and that’s why you think that’s the case.
If you actually knew something about the topic I cover – and if the MSM would cover that topic in an honest fashion – you wouldn’t say that.
You’d realize that the BHO plan discussed at my link above would actually make things worse for those on the lower end of the scale at the same time as it enriched corrupt elites in the U.S. and Mexico.

Sadly, Obama’s hold on the critical swing demographic of unemployed conspiracy theorists is slipping, if 24aheads very frequent comments are any indication.

It’s the U.S. Politics version of taking the SAT. If you guess the answer to a question and you’re wrong, you’re docked a fraction of a point. Leave the question blank, and you break even. But unlike the SAT, when you leave a political question unanswered too long, someone inevitably answers it for you.

Speaking about conspiracy theorists, about a week ago MAX HATS offered a similar content-free comment about me (”OLS”) here:
reason.com/blog/show/129013.html
I also noticed another sockpuppet at this site saying something very similar to the ad homs against me at Reason.
The Kochtopus knows all, sees all, and can only leave ad hom comments.
