Don’t Tell Andy McCarthy
I almost hesitate to bring this up, for fear of throwing more kindling on the right-wing fire, but yesterday’s post on my ties to radicalism including the Working Families Party, Todd Gitlin, and PvdA led someone to draw my attention to JS We Can! which is both a clever multilingual pun, and an insidious plot to bring America to its knees.
You see, PvdA has a youth arm. And it’s called Jongen Socialisten, or young socialists. And in Dutch “JS” is pronounced sort of like “yes” in English. Hence, “JS we can!” a website that is, quite literally, an effort by foreign young socialists to elect Barack Obama. It seems they’ve got Dutch exchange students canvassing for Obama in Pennsylvania and everything. Personally, I love Dutch socialists (and it should be noted that PvdA took a “third way” turn like UK Labour in the nineties and isn’t really a socialist party anymore) but I’m not sure how well this kind of thing would play in middle America.

The other day, I appended an innocuous paragraph to
McCarthy bio on the web, stating that his ominous posts
on the corner seem to suggest that Obama is a Manchurian
candidate and that there will be a great catastrophic
event immediately after Obama is inaugurated, and that
although all the writers are anti-Obama at the Corner,
McCarthy’s posts are the most rabid anti-Obama writings
there.
Within an hour someone took edited out my comments.

My Dutch is really minimal, but they seem to be recruiting volunteers for the campaign.
MAX HATS and Viceroy Matt, her name apparently is Astrid Benschop, she’s from Utrecht, and she’s 18. She was very impressed with a speech Obama gave in New Hampshire to a crowd of 80,000, and she wants to learn how to bring that kind of enthusiasm for politics back to young people in the Netherlands.

If you’re opposed to foreign nationals interfering in US elections, then are you also prepared to condemn the US meddling with elections in places like Chile, Nicaragua, and Ukraine? What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
Personally I oppose both of them. American elections should be decided by Americans, and the same way for Nicaragua.

burritoboy, Get real. the SP is noting but a election machine out to get as much votes as they can. They’ve got no idealism or party platform plank they’re not willing to sell out if it would bag them one extra vote.
And with Agnes Kant as a leader their glory days are over and they’ve become nothing but a less honest Groenlinks clone.
Jan Marijnissen actually had the background and political talent to stand up for the less fortunate. Agnes Kant is a talentless hack that can’t do anything but cost the taxpayers million of dollars through moronic questions to the kabinet.
