Dancing McCain

CAPAF released the following policy report today:

Never say this isn’t a serious, substantive think tank.

that’s weird, creepy, dreadful and fantastic all at the same time. it is nothing but a kind of madness.

  2. gordon gekko Says:

I can never understand why partisan think tanks engage in superficial promotions of their arguments. Like Paris Hilton is the reason why estate tax makes sense. You don’t see the Cato institute coming out with this sort of tripe.

  3. rmwarnick Says:

And here I thought McCain wasn’t a good dancer.

  4. Katherine Says:

Brilliant! Although now the song might be in my head all day…

  5. 24AheadDotCom Says:

I didn’t watch it, but there’s a reason why I put his CAP links as #16 on my nineteen reasons to oppose BHO.

  6. Kali Says:

I am beginning to see the truth in McCain’s challenge to reporters to “name one time I have changed positions” on an issue.

McCain has changed both philosophical bent and policy specifics so frequently that “one time” challenge is as tricky as grabbing just one grain of sand off the beach.

  7. Adam Says:

Hey, I checked out some of the nutbaggery on 24AheadDotCom. The “nonpartisan” list of reasons not to vote for Obama were pretty boring, actually, but I liked the part about how you shouldn’t donate to Goodwill because they “smeared” Sarah Palin. Good stuff.

  8. duBois Says:

To get the tune out of your head, replace it with a better version. Find a copy of “Neck and Neck” with Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler.

  9. Jim Says:

    Shorter McCain:

    cutting taxes = welfare.
    raising taxes = socialism.

And Obama is going to do both…somehow.

The only tax policy that isn’t welfare or socialism is one that cuts taxes for rich white people.

  10. 24AheadDotCom Says:

Adam: I’m sorry you find the First Amendment boring. Would you prefer the comic book version?

As for Goodwill, they did indeed help smear here. However, that’s not one of the reasons. That’s a different post. Perhaps you can find someone to explain that to you.

  11. Aaron Says:

Conservatives believe the First Amendment only applies to them. THE END.

Also, apparently conservatives believe asking Sarah Palin to donate clothes to Goodwill is somehow beneath her. Wow.

  12. Kali Says:

Hey Adam, thank you for the tip!

I have a couple of beautiful leather club chairs that don’t fit in my new house, so I thought I’d give them to someone at work. But now I’ll just give Goodwill a call. That should bring ‘em a few bucks. I’ll see what else I can round up for them. Excellent!

  13. Kenny B. Says:

    To 24AheadDotCom:

Let me make a list of “non-partisan” reasons not to vote for John McCain using the same standard of “non-partisan” that you use:

    1: I don’t agree with him
    2: He’s old
    3: Sarah Palin is stupid
    4: 24AheadDotCom supports him
5: He hasn’t really been tested in 40 years
    6: He’s short
7: His voice is kind of annoying
8: He’s from Arizona, and I am not
9: His policy positions differ from mine
    10: He’s associated with people I don’t know
11: He never takes my calls
12: Smart people has told me he not good
13: Habit of making stupid decisions
14: He could be a spy
15: I haven’t personally been given full access to every pointless aspect of how his nervous system functions
16: He might smell funny, and I wouldn’t know

  14. 24AheadDotCom Says:

As you can see above, a stupid blogger begets stupid commenter(s).

“Aaron”’s first sentence is, of course, hugely inaccurate and a fallacy. The second sentence is a completely false mischaracterization of my unrelated post about that issue. Goodwill knew that Palin was being smeared over an issue and BHO’s corresponding issue was being ignored; they highlighted both but that only served to further the smear.

“Kenny B”’s comment is also a completely false mischaracterization of my list of reasons to oppose Obama. All are substantial and documented. Check them out and if anyone has a reasoned argument, the comments are open at the link.

  15. Reality Man Says:

I didn’t watch it, but there’s a reason why I put his CAP links as #16 on my nineteen reasons to oppose BHO.
