Change You Can Believe In?

Scott McClellan joins Ken Adelman on the list of Obama endorsers that will probably do more to raise doubts in progressives’ minds than anything else. Still, McClellan wrote a contrite book. Adelman remains baffling.

Is it really so hard to undetstand Adelman? He sees the writing on the wall and wants access.

  2. crack Says:

Larison has talked about how unpersuasive a case these Obamacons make for Obama. Then proceeds to explain that just shows strong the case against McCain is.

nothing baffling about adelman. he’s just a neo-con scum.

watch billy kristol: the first principle is never to admit you were wrong.

so adelman realizes that he needs to start sucking up to the dems (as frank said above).

but unlike mclellan, he’ll never admit he was wrong.

and once you recall that he is part of the kristol/wolfowitz/feith wing of lying, unrepentant neo-cons, it makes perfect sense.

  4. Rich Says:

Adelman makes perfect sense. He would rather have a policy he disagrees with executed competently, than a policy he agrees with executed badly, or perhaps not at all because the would-be executor is so unbalanced and untrustworthy. This is a perfectly respectable position, and it’s why I would have voted (gaggingly) for Mike Foster and Bobby Jindal in recent Louisiana governor’s races.

    Fear.

These guys are so damn scared of the brown boogeyman, that the thought of the incompetent McCain administration being the only bulwark between Israel and the Muslim hoards gives them the willies.

  6. JohnH Says:

I’m becoming convinced that these guys care about one thing, winning. That’s how they can go rapidly from Obama sounds exciting but is all rhetoric to Obama sounds substantive but is dull and lacking in passion to Obama is a socialist to I’m endorsing him. Whatever it takes to save looking like a loser.

  7. acorvid Says:

You know, I’m as suspicious as the next person of McClellan’s motives. But in watching him pimp his book and in a couple of other settings, I have formed the impression that there is an element of genuine sincerity in what he professes to think. He may come to play a larger role than we currently might imagine in the coming investigations into Bush administration criminality.

I, for one, welcome our new Muslim overlords…

  9. sarah Says:

uh, mcclellan wrote a bullshit, self-serving, pseudo-contrite book that happened to have some interesting tidbits. i would be plenty happy to have him keep his endorsement to himself.
