Banking Bracket

Not sure who made this, but it’s pretty funny:

My guess is that once we get to the Final Four, free market ideology is going to be out of steam and massive socialism will come out on top, boosting along by a tide of bank nationalizations.

according to this, it was created by “a general partner at Sansome Partners named Mark Slavonia”.

    also, here’s an interactive version.

  2. Bulworth Says:

Is there a bigger picture of this? I get the drift of it but can’t read the names.

  3. Miatch Says:

Can you link to a legible version of this graphic?

  4. Bulworth Says:

    Thanks cleek

  5. James Gary Says:

It looks hilarious. FYI, it’s also so lo-rez that I can just barely read it.

  6. M Says:

    Here is the proper link.

  7. Jeffrey Davis Says:

Berkshire Hathaway and Goldman Sachs in a first round matchup? Who handicapped that one?

  8. Geoff Says:

    Is that Cyrillic spam?

  9. fostert Says:

I don’t think it’s funny at all. But that’s because I can’t see it. It’s like trying to hear a joke from ten miles away.

  10. fostert Says:

    Thanks, M. It’s funny now.

Huh? It looks like JP Morgan Chase against Bank of America in the final game. It like to take JP Morgan Chase (home team), but I’d need to see the spread first. For now, I’ll call it BofA by $5 Billion.

  12. fostert Says:

“Berkshire Hathaway and Goldman Sachs in a first round matchup? Who handicapped that one?”

Yeah, that is pretty weird. Both of them really should be in the Final Four.

  13. GFD Says:

Get the feeling Matt isn’t reading the comments?

If he was he — he’d have learned how illegible the graphic is for many of us.

    (Sigh)

  14. Colonel Danite Says:

Where’s Wal-Mart? They’ve been trying, unsuccessfully, to get a bank charter for years now. If they ever do, they would make it to the Final Four

  15. Alex Broner Says:

Golman Sachs beats the US Congress in the final. Paulson gets gatorade dumped on him by his team at Sachs.

  16. fostert Says:

    “Where’s Wal-Mart?”

They’ll have to wait for the next crisis. You can’t play in the finals if you’re not in the league. But they’ll be fine. They can pick up some good players in the next draft. They’ll come into the league with a strong team.

  17. Kiran Says:

I’m kind of rooting for the Queen of England.

  18. Jerry 101 Says:

Sachs won’t survive more than 2 more weeks.

Buffett already owns a chunk of them.

Berkshire Hathaway wipes the mat with one time super power GS.

Then, BH knocks out the fading Citigroup, which is still hurting from trying to absorb Wachovia.

Bank of America is sick from all the crap its been eating and gets beat down by the Flying Buffetts.

At the same time, the Federal Reserve gets hungry and eats Wells Fargo, and then the FHFA is merged into the growing monster.

Obama beats McCain and goes toe to toe with the Congress, and wins. As President, he initates an anti-trust suit against behemoth JPMChase. JP Bank, Morgan Bank, and Chase Bank cut and run.

The Queen, using all of her Queenly power upends a very dangers Lloyd’s of London. Mostly, she just gets out of London, and Lloyd’s can’t leave. Maybe if they were Lloyd’s of England…
Mitsubishi is the wildcard, and it is able to eat Morgan Stanley.

Barclays avoided the really bad stuff when it ate Lehman, and it’s able to gobble up Mitsubishi, but the resurgent Queen’s Navy knocks Barclays out for the count.

The big fight is on. You’ve been waiting for it since around 1815. Yup. The President vs. The Queen.

Obama wins, but is left reeling. Just then, the Federal Reserve is ceded to Warren Buffett, and Buffett forecloses on the White House.

We are all subsidiaries of Warren Buffett, but take heart. His entire fortune is pledged to Bill Gates chartible foundation.

Buffett is exhausted from taking over the world and dies. The entire world falls under the control of a one-world government: The Bill and Melissa Gates Foundation.
