What the GOP Cares About

My colleagues at ThinkProgress have done a nifty analysis of which words were used heavily and which rarely at the GOP Conveniton. We’ve got 14 POWs, 11 Mavericks, 5 hockey moms, 4 nuclear weapons, and 1 Osama bin Laden.

Tyrannosaurus and Bush in equal measure.

  2. edreed Says:

EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH AND HELP SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THIS creepy promotional video for a workshop at Wasilla Assembly of God (Sarah Palin’s longtime church)

When you watch this video REMEMBER…this was Sarah Palin’s church for nearly her entire life.

The man with in the leather jacket donning a goatee was Sarah Palin’s pastor from 1999 till 2002.

She continues to have close ties to this church and is involved with workshops there.

GOP Conveniton? Is that some sort of futuristic Republican robot?

  4. Grumpy Says:

And a partridge in a pear tree!

  5. Chris Says:

    Only one Bush?

But the media keeps telling us how popular he is!

And McCain is running for the nomination of Bush’s party!

Why, it’s almost like they want us to forget that Republicans have been in power for the last eight* years…

    * how *are* we counting that weird little blip where Senate Democrats had a nominal and toothless majority from June 2001 to September 11 November 2002?

  6. El Cid Says:

The Republican Party has not been anywhere near Washington DC for, like, it must be like 8 years or more or something. It’s time for CHANGE!

  7. rupert Says:

    What about “community organizer”?

  8. Johnny Be Good Says:

    I lol’d.

  9. Jimmy Cream Says:

Outside the convention the most heard phrase was “Where can I find some gay action?” Not that there’s anything wrong with it (it is just they are such hypocrites)

  10. gord Says:

  11. Jefffrey Davis Says:

I think I’ve become a neo-con. The selection and marketing of Sarah Palin confirms their darkest anti-democratic (small d) beliefs.

  12. Matthew Says:

No ‘mooseburger’? That might have been the most mentioned thing about Sarah Palin.

  13. 24AheadDotCom Says:

Here’s a simple rule: anything associated with CAP (ThinkProgress’ and MattY’s parent company) has to be taken with a mountain of salt because they frequently engage in LogicalFallacies, “forget” to mention facts, mischaracterize their opponents’ arguments, etc. I’m sure the reader will find that rule holds in 99% of cases.

So, for instance, one might wonder why they put immigration under their “civil rights” headings. While the part of that topic involving citizens does involved civil rights, the parts that involve others does not or is much more tenuous.

Discussing that is left as an exercise to MattY’, aka “MattY prime”. That’s the smart twin of MattY who doesn’t engage in CAP-style thinking. Unfortunately, MattY’ doesn’t exist.

I’d be interested in hearing your defense of torture.

  15. Evil Twin Says:

Also non-existent? A non-racist version of The LoneWacko (now going under the name 24AheadDotCom).

    Go away racist scum.
