One Man’s View

Apologies for the not-so-hot photo, had to snap this from the back seat of a moving car. But I think the message is clear:

obamahater.jpg

I appreciate this guy’s concision and message discipline. The GOP has to be worried that some of their over-enthusiastic supporters — especially the “stand on a bridge holding a sign” crowd — will go too far and say explicitly racist stuff. Bad for America and bad for Israel, though, isn’t something you have to disavow.

    Is that an S or a B?

  2. Calvin Jones and the 13th Apostle Says:

Obama is bad for Israel? Palin was a Buchanan supporter in 2000. That guy in the picture better stop advertisin’ his ignorance.

I’d like MY’s thoughts on Jeffrey Goldberg’s chiding of Andrew Sullivan for laughing at James Wolcott’s reference to a congressman as a unregistered lobbyist for Israel.

  4. Notorious P.A.T. Says:

We Americans need to protect Israel, so it can be destroyed when the Apocalypse comes. Now *that’s* concern for Jews!

Cantor isn’t someone I’m massively familiar with and when I stuck his name into google it came back: Related searches cantor jewish.

This sort of tells me that no one had any idea what Goldberg was talking about and had to check google to figure it out. It probably tells Goldberg that google is part of the vast anti-semitic conspiracy.

  6. LeftBS Says:

No need for the GOP to worry. No matter what, they’ll be outdone by the talking pinheads on the left.

Let’s see, in a week’s time, a woman is bashed for being a mother and trying to advance her career. Couldn’t come up with anything better huh? Oh that’s right, some cleverly edited cut and paste audio. Attacking her daughter and exploiting a minor disability of another child to question her right to advance and grow. Nice message to families in similar situations.

The big let’s pretend we care about the suffering of the citizens (oh and especially the minorities, must exploit the hell out of that) of the Katrina disaster has been shown to be a fraud when Dem leadership hopes for more destruction on the same city yet again for nothing more than to disrupt convention pomp. Sorry black people, you’re just gonna have to take the hit. We have an election to win, and your continued suffering in New Orleans is important to us.

What do you guys actually believe in rather than a label and advancement of career politician powerbrokers? I mean really think about it for a bit and be honest with yourselves. Don’t get me wrong, the right side of the aisle is just as hypocritical and full on nonsense much of the time, but really, do you really care about the rights of anyone unless it can be used as a tool to get the Democratic Party label in office?

  7. Ed Marshall Says:

You are about to vote for John McCain, you idiot. What the hell do you stand for other than following orders? This is some sorry ass projection.

  8. cleek Says:

woah, that LBS is one dumb muthafukka!

  9. LeftBS Says:

I’m a Libertarian. I’m not voting McCain. Why don’t you answer my questions instead of getting so upset? I think we both know :)

  10. lm Says:

    1. it says Osama — which is f**king disgusting

  11. LeftBS Says:

Oh my, so the response to Fowler’s “Everything’s Cool” is that Tom Delay thinks it’s unfortunate that the convention will not take place as they being the RNC planned, and that there are bigger issues to worry about right now. Really? that’s the response of Think Progress on their main page? Well, it is unfortunate. It’s unfortunate a disaster is going on right now, and now it’s a bad thing to say so? Not even close to those who were hoping for it. Can’t tell the difference huh? How sad. Why do you guys compete with the likes of Jerry Falwell to fight for the title of most disturbing?

If the goal is to balance out the hurricane comments, by Fowler, and Moore, don’t. Just condemn it. If the goal is to point at DeLay is a schmuck, there are plenty of other opportunities. This one isn’t it.

  12. Ed Marshall Says:

    I’m a Libertarian. I’m not voting McCain.

OK, that’s different, it would just be an incredibly different question from a conservative McCain supporter.

As for what’s bothering you, I don’t give a shit at all. I can’t understand anyone who would. You aren’t talking about religious people who actually believe they can invoke a diety to smite their political enemies, you are talking about people noting *irony*. It’s *ironic* that New Orleans gets walloped again during the RNC convention. Condemning them for noting that is just…stupid. Do you really think there is anyone out there saying “o0o0o0o0, I wanna see people eaten by gators again, that should be worth 5 points in the general!!!!”. Maybe someone on the Obama campaign really feels that way, I dunno, what if they did?

  13. McKingford Says:

it says Osama — which is f**king disgusting

I don’t know that it’s especially controversial that Osama might be bad for America and Israel…

  14. Richard Steven Hack Says:

Just so everybody knows where I stand, if something is bad for Israel, I can get behind it at this point: terrorism, nuclear attack, sandstorms, tidal waves, earthquakes, a plague of locusts, whatever.

Although I think the Palestinian tactic of blowing up busloads of Israeli civilians is a brain dead tactic. They should be blowing up Olmert, Livni, and Betanyahu.

Fuck Israel. It’s an illegal, rogue, fascist, terrorist state that needs to be destroyed before it screws up the world any more than it has.

And SLC in three, two, one…

  15. Richard Steven Hack Says:

Damn, going Yglesias on my typing. Substitute N for B where appropriate.

Give us preview and editing rights, idiots!

  16. LeftBS Says:

As for what’s bothering you, I don’t give a shit at all.

Well there you have it. Lowering yourself to the lowest common denominator is a good thing. Some idiot sob right leaning morons make some dumbass comments, now the left can feel free to do the same. The trick is to make people think you are better than the other guy. Oh well.

One thing I do know is that Obama had this in the bag. Bush has spent 8 years f’ing up this country from one end to the other. The GOP had full control and didn’t do a damn thing of value. Now at crunch time, the left seem to think asinine comments that rival the worst of the right are ok. Well, good luck. People are turned off by it regardless of the source, or the excuse.

  17. LeftBS Says:

    To Ed

One more thing of note, hurricane Hanna is forecast to head right for SC. Home of Don Fowler, and John Spratt. Now, if someone like Ann Coulter points out the “irony”, or some RNC campaign jockey now claims God is back on their side, you’ll be fine with that right? Just so long as they say they weren’t actually asking God for yet another natural disaster. Everything’s cool, and it’s all for good laughs, as long as no one really wanted anyone to get hurt. Irony is fun! Hell, plenty of unaffected states left for even more irony.

My guess says you’d be the first one posting talking about what dirt bags hover around the GOP for making such asinine, hurtful, and ugly statements. You’d be right, but you’d also be a hypocrite. Don’t forget that.
