His Area of Expertise

John McCain can’t tell the difference between the regular Army and the National Guard.

‘I also know, if I might remind you, that she is commander of the Alaska National Guard. In fact, you may know that on Sept. 11 a large contingent of the Alaska Guard deployed to Iraq and her son happened to be one of them. So I think she understands our national security challenges….’

Do you honestly think John McCain gives a flying f*** whether or not his comments are accurate if they back up the ridiculous propaganda line about “Sarah Palin something something see Russia something something Commander in Chief of the Alaska National Guard something something her son to Iraq something something”?

This isn’t a mixup. This isn’t some McCain mixup of military agencies. It’s McCain lying again because it suits him.

If McCain was responding to a question off the cuff, I could see him making this kind of mistake. Would not be a big deal to me. But it sounds like this was part of a set of pre-planned talking points to play up Palin’s credentials. If that’s the case, then it’s just a lie.

  3. dannity Says:

To me, this sounds like confusion. I think this is indicative of just how uninvolved with his own campaign McCain is, and how little he truly knows his own VP. Basically, what he knows about Palin are talkingpoints. 1) She “commands” the Alaskan National Guard, and 2) her son just deployed to Iraq. Therefore, to someone who’s mind isn’t overly concerned with accuracy anyway, some combination of 1 and 2 become inevitable.

While I don’t think this is a “lie” per say, you’re exactly right in noting that with John McCain’s background and supposed expertise, this is a mistake he should not be making.

John McCain is an idiot. And his troubles are only beginning. If I can find Info regarding the real reason Monegan was fired, surely his vetting team should have been able to. Just some info I found while cyber-snooping today.
