The Future of Kevin Drum

In case you haven’t yet heard, Kevin Drum’s blog has moved from The Washington Monthly to a new home at Mother Jones while his old digs at the Monthly have been taken up by Steve Benen and Hilary Bok. Two great magazines, three great bloggers, now with different URLs! Be advised.

Wow, Mother Jones? Is it just me or does Kevin seem a little… um… center-left for MJ?

  2. Calvin Jones and the 13th Apostle Says:

Hilary Bok? I thought it was Benen and Hilzoy.

  3. raft Says:

    Hilzoy is Hilary Bok.

  4. Warren Terra Says:

    1) Although I could be wrong, it was my understanding that, while it’s not a deep dark secret and many people know it, Hilzoy prefers that her real name not be used in connection with her blogging.

    2) You might note that Hilzoy is cross-posting and keeping her role at Obsidian Wings.

And, here’s why I’m not a Kevin Drum fan. Click his name and WM’s name to read other comments that were deleted, and note the potential dangers of linking to WM’s archives (24ahead.com/blog/archives/006486.html).

I clicked on that link and my computer beeped and said something about an infected webpage.

    Not joking.

  7. FearItself Says:

I hear that some blogger named Matt Yglesias has recently moved, too. What is up with these people?

I wish some of them would stay put and write books, instead of just blog posts. Has anyone heard anything about any books written by bloggers? I’m especially interested in a liberal take on internationalist foreign policy…

  8. 24AheadDotCom Says:

godoggo: what page are you referring to? Please describe the situation in detail, and make absolutely sure and document what happened, saving any output from any programs you have running. Just in case it’s needed.

  9. godoggo Says:

Actually, I’m not sure it was caused by your link. And when I tried clicking on it again later, nothing happened. Anyway, here’s what happened originally: I clicked on the link, then closed the browser (I don’t think any other pages besides this blog were open), then got the virus message. I can paste in the info from my antivirus when I’m on that computer, but it doesn’t give say too much.
