He’ll Be Missed

Laura Rozen reports that Michael Ledeen is leaving the American Enterprise Institute. In the future his sole perch will be at the somewhat wingnuttier and more obscure Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

Is he leaving whichever black-op intelligence services (foreign and domestic) currently employ him?

    Evil, evil fucker.

  2. dB Says:

I was concerned, upon reading the first sentence, that perhaps Dr. Ledeen had secured a position at a legitimate university. It’s relieving to see that this is not the case. Once a dishonest academic, always a dishonest academic, I suppose.

  3. Demosthenes Says:

    Sooooo…

You’re the guy who works at a DC Think Tank, Matt. Maybe you can say exactly how maddened a mind needs to be before it’s unwelcome at AEI?

On the Foundation for Defence of Democracies:

It’s part of the wingnut welfare shell game that’s designed to put $345,000+bennies in Clifford May’s bank account per annum along with a pompous-sounding business card. May, of course, is another evil fucker.

(I say this because I consider these unelected warmongering wingnut welfare whores far, far worse than even the dumbest, most bigoted, most chickenhawk Congresscritters. Those, at least, have their power through the ballot box.)

  6. Randy Paul Says:

Somewhat wingnuttier? FDD is headed by Cliff May, the man who puts the ass in bombastic.

  7. Don Williams Says:

    “Somewhat Wingnuttier”????

Until recently, FDD’s Board of Advisors listed Senator Chuck Schumer –along with Charles Krauthammer, Richard Perle and Bill Kristol. For years, I’ve delighted in pointing that out on the Internet (See http://www.matthewyglesias.com/archives/2007/04/buying_the_war/index.php#077112 )

Howver, Chuckie’s name has been taken off recently for some reason, spoiling the fun. However, FDD still has Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller. See http://www.defenddemocracy.org/biographies/biographies.htm

Last time I checked, Chuckie Schumer controlled the Democratic Party’s biggest pot of money (the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee ) Note that the “Democratic National Committee(DNC)” pot is greatly shrunken since Howard Dean pissed off S Daniel Abraham and other billionaires of the Israel Lobby. Karl Rove wet his pants laughing.

  8. Don Williams Says:

An example of a FDD Background Paper. From Dec 18, 2002 re The Iraqi Threat:(http://www.defenddemocracy.org/publications/publications_show.htm?doc_id=155692 )

“FDD counters the arguments of those who oppose military action to enforce the UN resolutions that forbid Saddam Hussein from developing weapons of mass destruction.

Myth 1: The threat is exaggerated – Iraq is not close to acquiring weapons of mass destruction (WMD). ”

    ha ha ha ha.

Ledeen is such an odious fucking liar that DIA completely threw him off the bus:

When the CIA and the State Department discovered that Ledeen and Ghorbanifar were involved, they opposed any further contact with the two. Ledeen’s contacts, the Defense Human Intelligence Service concluded, were “nefarious and unreliable,” the Senate committee reported.

Ledeen’s contacts, whom those AEI motherfuckers LOVE, were “nefarious and unreliable”.

    Just like Ledeen himself.

    Evil, evil fucker.

Read the McClatchy report I linked to in my previous post. Evidently Ledeen’s job is to introduce Iranian intelligence agents to the Vice President’s inner circle.

I’d love to see who has paid that fucker over the last 30 years.
