Back when I was in college and writing a blog, nobody even knew what a blog was. These days, though, the kids have all kinds of fancy new media including a podcast called The Progressive Student Voice which, as you can guess, is progressive politics for students. Yesterday I was interviewed for a segment on their latest episode talking mostly about Heads in the Sand and its applicability to our current political moment, but also a bit about blogging in general and the course of new media.

Matthew–Off Topic,
How have you remained in the same location as Ambinder? He is so dense, so in the tank for anybody but Obama that he is a joke. What the hell is he talking about with his comment:
“Now, I didn’t go to a four year college NOT to assimilate some Suassian semiotics about gender and language. CBS News National Correspondent Dean Reynolds noted yesterday that the McCain campaign accused Obama of reacting to McCain’s aggressiveness “with a mix of fussiness and hysteria.”
Is he talking about F. de Saussure? Instead of addressing the extremely negative turn McCain’s campaign has taken, he focuses on press statements about McCain. And no matter what, Obama is somehow always pretty wrong (McCain would NEVER race bait!) and McCain is always right, a victim & hero.
Gee, I just wish he’d be honest and say, like Dana Milbank, Tapper, Scott Simon / Neil Cohen @ NPR and John Dickerson among others, I deeply despise Barack Obama. Black guys are all right as they are one or two in freshman econ, but damn if I want them to have real power.
You boys are not hiding your bias well. Ta-Nehisi Coates, you are walking into a a very hostile environment. Sullivan will look down on you as a low-IQ ignorant brute. MM will see you in a slightly less inferior way, with more UWS condescension than aggressive white supremacy. That’s reserved for the previously mentioned Ambinder. Put your armor on and keep you soul strong.
